PC SOLUTION
1] pc couldnt detect my cd-rom. I look in the Device Manager and it shows a exclaimation mark on cd-rom drive. As to what I know is that we dont need driver for most of the cd-roms as they are supported by Win XP
ANSWER:- a] right click on the item with the exclamation point (in the device manager). choose uninstall (or remove). restart your computer and check if its stillnot being detected properly. The exclamation point basically means that there is a device conflict. try to uninstall it then restart the computer. winXP would reinstall it for you.
b] if that wont fix the problem, try these...
-reset BIOS
-check if the cables are plugged properly
-check jumper settings
-try windows system restore (highly recommended)
c] I went to microsoft.com and found the answer. What I need was to go to Regedit and delete off 2 datas that were in the Registry Editor. After I restart the pc, my D drive is back to normal.
2] everytime i try to install a software it shows that the installation is completed, but when i try to run the software it displays "A required. DLL file,c:\windows\system\imagehlp.dll,was not found." windows 98 os
ANSWER:- this problem is about a corrupted dll file in your computer... try checking this link...
3] i was using winxp-sp2 , whenever i started my com after sometime a blue screen popped up and the computer restarted saying something abt "dumping paging file". so i formatted my com and resinstalled sp2 ,it worked well for sometime then again the same problem
ANSWER:- A] the blue screen of death means that the system is detecting a corrupt system file. when do yo get this blue screen, i mean what program r u running? also, what is the partition size of your c drive, or the drive where windows is installed into? if u have another hdd... set it as the master hdd try installing windows into it then use your present hdd just as a slave(tell me if you understand this or not) this is because the way you partitioned your hdd is the only weird thing i can see with your system. have you tried overclocking your computer?
B] what exactly was written on the blue screen??
most of the time,a blue screen followed by a page file dump is caused by problems with the HDD. probably, it was trying to use HDD space as virtual memory but encountered some problems, hence an error in the page file
but, this isnt always the case. sometimes, it might be with the video card...so to be sure, can you provide more specifics as to what was written in the blue screen
especially the part when it mentions something like, the error seems to be connected with this file _________

C] If an error is about overclocking then the speed of the memory in the BIOS is too high for what is the memory installed on your computer, you can configure BIOS to utilize the memory speed that computer have so that it will not overclock
D] overclocking feature is disabled (regular speed), you will have to manually set it to a higher value
in simple terms overclocking is like this. if i have a PC with say Pentium 4 1.8GHz... i can overclock that so that instead of 1.8GHz, I get around maybe 2.0GHz depending on the settings.
have you tried checking the device manager? from what you stated, im guessing the problem is hardware related, perhaps a hardware driver was corrupted when your computer suddenly restarted due to UPS problem and it hasnt been fixed yet so it keeps coming back. check video card drivers, from my experience, this is usually where the problem is when something like this happens while you are playing a game

E] if you have a different hdd, try installing that just to test if you're hdd is the one having the problem... are you sure that your c drive is free of bad sectors? how mush free disk space do you have on your c drive? also if possible, try to clean the terminals of your RAM and try using different memory banks. (be careful in doing so, avoid static electricity)
one big factor about these advise that we're giving you, if you're not that familiar with computers.... DONT DO IT! there is a very big chance that you may damage the system permanently or worse, you may hurt yourself!
anyway, take care in handling your pc dude... hope this helps!
4] When i download rar files which have .exe in it and when i extracted it. There's no .exe file.
ANSWER:- A] no exe file? are you sure that the archive (the rar file) did infact contain an exe file when you downloaded it?
you were able to extract the files right? so that means you downloaded the archive correctly, otherwise, extraction would have failed (corrupted file error)
does the archive have password protection? maybe the exe file was protected by a password thats why it didnt extract like the other files
or, perhaps the exe file was infected by a virus and your anti virus software automatically removed the exe file
4.1-- Firstly, when i double- click the rar files, there's is an .exe file but when i 2x click the .exe file, it pops out a meesage "cannot execute the file".
ANS:- B] you may be running the .exe file directly from inside of the archive. although it should work, there are times that you have to extract the files first. as balg said, ... you were able to extract the file right? try doing balg's advise and if possible, re-download the file again then try to decompress them to just one folder then try running the .exe file
